He is our Saviour He is our Sanctifier He is our Healer He is our Coming King Christ, Our Saviour Jesus is the only way to God. In John 14:6 Jesus tells us, “I am the way, and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” In Romans 3:23 and Romans 6:23 we see that we are sinners condemned to face the punishment of those sins, but God gave us the gift of His Son so that we might be saved. - see also Romans 5:8 Christ, Our Sanctifier Sanctification is not merely an experience; it is a life. It is not just a blessing; it is a person. It is not a something; but a Someone. Scripture teaches that we can become progressively more like Christ. Christ not only paid for the penalty of my sin, but he broke sin’s power in my life. We need to come to a specific time in our lives where we say, “Lord, I want you not only to be my Saviour, but I want you to be Lord of my life as well.” (Romans 12:1) Sanctification is both a crisis point and progressive. The crisis is that of surrender once for all. Progression is the process of becoming like Christ. Being filled in the Spirit is evidenced by the Fruit of the Spirit displayed in our lives - Galatians 5:22. Christ, Our Healer Divine Healing is a direct touch of God. It is our privilege as God’s children to ask and expect physical as well as spiritual healing. -- Matthew 8:17 – compare with Isaiah 53:6, Psalm 103:3, 1 Peter 2:24, Acts 10:38 Every believer must learn to bow to the will of God at all times. We do not believe that God has some kind of computer and if we punch the right keys He’ll have to heal us. God’s will is best. He desires always the highest and best for His children. God makes it clear that He wants to and is able to heal – if He withholds it, then it is because he has something even better to give. Our practice according to James 5:14-17 is to have the sick person call for the Elders who will come and anoint with oil and pray for healing. The oil has no significance apart from it being a symbol of healing, just like water in baptism of cleansing and the Bread and Cup in the Lord’s Supper. Throughout Scripture, oil is a symbol of the Holy Spirit, and is used to remind us of His presence and power. Christ, Our Coming King We do not present a theory or doctrine, we believe that the emphasis should be on the Person who is coming, It is “The Lord Himself” that shall descend from heaven. We do not know the time of Christ’s coming. There has been much speculation regarding this but we will not know until the time comes. Some people in the past have selected dates, sold their businesses, put on white robes and waited for His return. In Matthew 24:36-42, the Scriptures are clear that the date is unknown. However, we are commanded to watch for His coming, in Matthew 24:42-51 This “age” will end in failure. 2 Peter 3:3, 1 John 5:19, 2 Thessalonians 1:8, 1 Timothy 4:1 There will be a judgment after Christ returns. Matthew 25
